Leyland cypress grows 3 to 4 ft a year when young and reaches 60 to 70 ft tall, so trees set 6 ft apart close into a screen fast but crowd each other within a few years.
Space trees at least 12 to 15 ft apart and 15 ft from structures; crowding and poor air flow encourage Seiridium canker.
